My name is Maria Alejandra Neira I was born in bogota , Colombia. I am 15 years old and I study in the colombo gales school.

 
the purpose of this blog, is basically to prove my knowledges and to inquire more of it. The interest of this is to show the activities of my english class.
in my english class my strength is the comprehension of the readings and in the other  hand my weakness is the ability to present in front my class.

 my english teacher ..... is miss Olga Alarcon she is a beautiful person , she explain so good , she like to make in her class some funny activities , in some times i dont undertand some things but then she explain us me and is more easy , in these 3 periods she explain us something like this .....

first term

 in these term the first them that we see was short story.

 what is a short story ??

A short story is a brief work of literature , usually written in narrative prose.

for introduce these theme we read the " a visit to grand mother "   these story is about a men that go to visit his mother whit her son , and in a dinner the brother of the principal character tell some stories that for this guy was no funnies so they reveal a secret .

Other theme that we saw  in these period was parts of the speech , and the teacher give us an activity that was to prepare an oral presentation , in these ocation i have to present interjections . 

what is a part of the speech  ? 

Traditional grammar classifies words based on eight parts of speech: the verb, the noun, the pronoun, the adjective, the adverb, the preposition, the conjunction, and the interjection.

second term

in these term we saw a principal theme that for some people and me was dificult because if you dont pay realy attention for all the explanation that the theacher gives is so dificult . this theme is petry .

what is poetry ?
poetry is literature in verse form. It has a controlled arrangement of lines and statments . poets use concise, musical , and emotional language to express multiple layers of meaning .

parts of poetry !

1. sound devices : are sources used to do a poem.

2. figurative language : is language that is used imaginatively rather than literally .

3.types of poetry : there are three main types of poetry.

An example of the first collection is "the guitar" in wish the author " federico garcia lorca " in these poem express how the music can make that you show your feelings .

other theme that we see was phrasal verbs and the english teacher give us an activity that consist in do a presentation of some phrasal verbs in these case i present all the phrasal verbs with take.

Third period 



in this period we see too much themes and we read 4 stories ,and the magazine that the miss give to us " speak up " this are .....

Fiction and nonfiction

• Fiction : Fiction is the form of any work that deals, in part or in whole, with information or events that are not factual, but rather, imaginary and theoretical that is, invented by the author.
   

• Non fiction : is the form of any narrative, account, or other communicative work whose assertions and descriptions are understood to be factual.

Phrases  , sentences , and clauses 

• Phrases  : A group of related words that does not contain a verb and its subject .

• clause:is a group of words and like a prhase , contains a verb and its subject .

• sentences : is consider as a group of words with a subject and a predicate . are organized by pounter marks , these can be broken iclauses or phrases .

Diary and letter 

• letter: a form of written communication; see also mail

• Diary : A diary is a record with discrete entries arranged by date reporting on what has happened over the course of a day or other period.

1. magdalena looking : this is a short story that use fiction and basically consist in a girl that live in netherlands and she wants to be painter but the big reason because she can not do this is that se is a girl .

the author of this book is  Susan Vreeland is an American author. Several of her books deal with the relationship between art and fiction. The Passion of Artemisia is a fictionalised investigation of some aspects of the life of Artemisia Gentileschi.

2. artful research : this is a non fiction work that do the author of magdalena looking , in this work she express all the investigations and the steps that she have to do , for write something.

3. the monkeys paw : this a very fantastic story that talks about a monkeys paw that make the wishes realy but they have a consecuence and a terible consecuence occurs to whites family when they whishes money and their song die . this interesting story was writen by William Wymark Jacobs (8 September 1863 – 1 September 1943), an English author of short stories and novels. Although much of his work was humorous.

4. the everest : erik weihenmayer makes a essay explaining his adventure , climbing the everst and all the complications that this have ,  he explain that a lot of people dont believe in he , but at the end he shows how he can do it .

Erik Weihenmayer (born September 23, 1968) is the first blind person to reach the summit of Mount Everest, on May 25, 2001. He also did the same for Mount Ararat.

fourth term 

this period we saw drama ,modal verbs, our term project os science fair ,we read 3 stories ,a project of easter ,  and we do a video with the magazine speak up
